I am the 6th and 7th grade math teacher in the Bruce School District. I have taught here for 23 years. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education: Learning Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. My previous teaching experience was in Las Vegas, Nevada. My husband is currently the Director of Instruction at Bruce and both of my children attend here. My son, Lucas is a Senior and my daughter, Lauren is in eighth grade. We are proud to represent Bruce Public School.
I am an active member of the Bruce School Leadership Team. I am very proud to be a Spotlight Grant Team member. The Spotlight Grant team has been awarded FIVE consecutive grants since 2011, bringing a total of $200,000 to our district. A highlight of my career has been sharing my passion and belief in education with struggling schools across the state of Wisconsin. In March of 2014 I was able to meet and thank former Senator Herb Kohl for his unbelievable contributions to education in our state as I was selected as a 2014 Herb Kohl Fellowship Recipient. As a Fund For Teacher Fellow in 2015, I was given the opportunity to study education in the beautiful country of Switzerland for two weeks during my summer vacation. What an amazing experience I had.
During my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and friends, and watching the Packers. I share my love of reading with my students every chance I get. I feel blessed to live in a community surrounded by beautiful forests, lakes and rivers.
Last year, Bruce School was recognized for exceeding expectations on the state report card for schools. We currently hold the #1 spot in our CESA for test scores. Bruce Middle School accepted an award at the state level for being a School of Recognition ten years in a row! If you have any questions concerning our district, please feel free to contact me.
