Tax Forms

Federal W-4

State WT-4

The Federal W-4 was revised due to federal tax law changes that took place in 2018 which eliminated personal exemptions and doubled the standard deduction. Employees hired prior to January 1, 2020, were not required to complete the revised form. Any changes going forward must be on the new W-4 form. We recommend using the IRS Withholding Estimator Tool for the most accurate results.

The district does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice.

Retirement Benefits - Wisconsin Retirement System

Eligibility is based on rules set by the Department of Employee Trust Funds. Employees who meet the eligibility requirements are automatically enrolled in this benefit as part of state law. The district will pay 100% of the employer's share of the Wisconsin Retirement System Contribution Rate (amount established annually by Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds). For 2026 the employer and employee contribution rate is 7.2% for a total retirement contribution of 14.4%.

It is important that you review your beneficiaries and your needs regularly. Birth, death, marriage, and divorce are all common life situations that can change how you want your beneficiary designations structured.

Tax Sheltered Annuities

What is a tax sheltered annuity? A 403(b) plan (also called a tax-sheltered annuity or TSA plan) is a retirement plan offered by public schools and certain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Employees save for retirement by contributing to individual accounts.

Who contributes funds to the tax sheltered annuity? Funds are deducted pre-tax or post-tax from the employee’s paycheck.

How can I enroll in a tax sheltered annuity? Contact WEA Member Benefits to set up your account and then notify the district office that you would like to start make contributions.
